The Big Diamond Development Program
Exciting news for those baseball families with children that are 12-14 years old, have aged out of Little League and/or played in Babe Ruth last year, and looking to get more work in on the big diamond this Fall.
This program will to provide kids with a chance to play an extra set of games while continuing to develop their craft/skill set. It will allows your child to stay in "baseball form" into the winter months and as they transition from little league to the regular size diamond in the spring. This program is a good fit for both players new to the big diamond as well as for this with a year or more experience. Playing time and positions will be allocated with an emphasis on development: kids will get chances to develop a "primary" position as well as try new ones. Most importantly, we strive to make the experience a fun means to get lots of reps against comparable competition alongside friends.
We will field up to two teams in the Norwood Diamond Club Fall Ball League running Early September through mid-October in which our teams will compete in Norwood against teams from Norwood, Needham, Newton, Westwood, Canton, Dedham, Sharon and other towns. Games will be Friday, Saturday or Sunday (2 per week), including some Friday night games under the lights. Practices will be once per week.
Teams will be larger than Little League since we recognize that some may have conflicts on a given week or day. That's ok! If you are interested and think that you can make at least some of the games and practices please go ahead and register and we'll make it work.
